STATE CHAMPIONS - U16 & U19

Congratulations to both the U16 and U19 teams for winning the 2010 Wisconsin State title. Both teams will be heading to Fond du Lac, WI March 19-21 for the Regional finals. The U16s take on Missouri and the Chicago Mission while the U19s have a best of three series against the Chicago Mission.

Good luck to both teams! Let’s go Caps!

Two Former Madison Capitols Win Silver

Congratulations to former Madison Capitols players Jessie Vetter and Jinelle Zaugg-Siergiej for earning the silver medal at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Jessie and Jinelle represented Team USA and fell just short to Team Canada in the final game. We are proud of you!

Congrats to Both the U16 and U19 Teams

This past weekend wrapped up the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League season with playoffs in Detroit, MI. Both teams had a great weekend!

U16s - 2nd Place
After some very well played games, the U16s made the Championship game vs. Little Caesars. Being down a goal at the end of the second period, the U16s fought back. With 29 seconds left in the third, Mikayla Johnson scored to send it into overtime. After two sudden death OT's, the nail bitter of a game came down to a shootout. Baylee Wellhausen was able to pop one in but it wasn't enough. Little Caesars was able to edge two by Danielle Lemon to win the game. Nice job ladies! What a great weekend.

U19s - 5th Place
After a slow start to the weekend, the 19s stepped it up and showed everyone what kind of a team they were. They had big wins over Victory Honda and New Jersey giving them the 5th place title. Nice job ladies!

College Bound Seniors

The Madison Capitols would like to give a great big congrats to the following seniors who have already committed to college programs:

Alex Ehlert – Bemidji State, MN
Jamie Kenyon – Minnesota – Duluth
Steph Lepak - College of St. Scholastica, MN
Keela Patterson – University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point
Mara Stormer - University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire

The list will get updated as our players make their decisions. Congratulations girls!

Pucks For Bucks Was a Success

On Sunday, Sept. 27 the Madison Capitols held their 2nd Annual Pucks for Bucks fundraiser and once again, it was a hit. With all girls participating, we might have beat our record last year.

Things to remember: All pledge money is due no later than Oct. 6. Make sure all checks are made out to the Madison Capitols and your pledge form is filled out completely. You can find additional pledge forms as an attachment below.

A BIG thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this possible: Larry Langlais, Dave Ferwerda and the many parents and friends that donated treats and drinks for our fundraiser superstars. Without volunteers, events like this are just not possible.

Any questions, please feel free to contact Jess Martin (jessmartin19@gmail.com).
